I did increase my exercise but I had plauteaued and this moved me past that. I then decided to try and colon cleanse/fat burning combination. I've lose 3 lbs in as many days and truly feel like my body is cleansing itself. The fat burning pills have a bit too much caffiene in them for my liking (I hardly ever use caffeine) so I'm going to cut the dose in 1/2 on those. I'm 45 years old. I'm not over weight, but have about 10 or so pounds I want to get off at this point. It can be very hard to lose weight when you dont' have a lot to lose and are middle aged---Acai Berry has worked for me when nothing else did.

The chocolate can also be found with soy for those who want the benefits of that.
Can't say I lost much weight with this, but I didn't use it regularly. It makes a quick lunch when you are in a hurry and keeps you from eating fast food and junk.

(More customer reviews)Well, I was really excited about this product when I first purchased it. Seemed like a great, affordable men's multivitamin specifically designed for men who work out a lot. The 3 pills a day is a little annoying, but given all the great things in here, it was a minor annoyance. Then, I stumbled across the report on multivitamins at ConsumerLab.com. Here is a quote from the report:
"Opti-Men contained 1.62 mcg of lead per daily serving. Although this amount is
unlikely to be harmful in itself, lead exposure should be avoided. The
State of California requires warning labels on supplements that
provide more than 0.5 mcg of lead per day."
To be perfectly honest, I am not that worried about a little lead exposure, but when a product contains it, it makes me think that the manufacturer simply isn't using that much care and precision in making their product. Because multivitamins are not regulated by the FDA, it is pretty easy for anyone to throw together a multivitamin - until I see that ON is serious about carefully and precisely manufacturing their multivitamin, I am going to stick with someone else. My personal choice right now is GNC Mega Men. Similar to OptiMen, but it passed all ConsumerLab tests, and I have been unable to find anything negative about it.
Also, I personally think that with multivitamins, it is better to stick with more of a big brand name. The bigger the company, the more likely they are to receive testing and scrutiny by independent sources, such as ConsumerLabs. Smaller manufacturers are simply not going to receive that much attention. Again, because multivitamins aren't regulated by the FDA, I think taking them warrants caution.

Now of course, one must use common sense, it does have caffeine in it but that is not its foundation. Best time to take this is in the morning (or when you wake up) then the next pack 4-5 hours later. Of course you do not want to take it late at night.
More importantly, the product works. I previously used mri black powder with my workouts but took a break from it as I didn't want to over supplement myself. With this product, you will want to drink plenty of water, and don't expect it to be a magic pill. I used this with my normal workouts, and even on non-workout days, the results are showing and my body fat level has decreased 2% from previous level leaving me at about 8% body fat (considered very lean), regardless I am still on my last week of it, so I have not finished. It is 9 pills per pack, which is only the slighest hassle, no big deal. It gives good energy and no crashes. It does contain caffeine, but the more important ingredients are in the thyroid complex as well as the green tea extract.

My diet has stayed relatively the same (relatively healthy). The only change I've made is switching from Centrum to One-A-day. I've been using this product for 2 months, and it seems I've been more resistant to colds and have been more "regular" since taking this supplement.
I'm knocking off a star because these may be hard to swallow for some people (like me). The pills don't have any sort of external coating on them to aid in swallowing. Additionally, if/when these become moist, the pill all but adheres to your tongue because of its gritty surface. I've had to throw out a few pills because I was not able to swallow them. A fresh pill solved the problem. My recommendation is to reduce moisture in your mouth to a minimum before taking.
Good product, overall.

I went on a well balanced diet and exercise plan and was down to 185 in about 4 months. I had some things at work pickup and was unable to workout like I had before and I hovered at 185 for about 5 months. When things at work eased up I was ready again to drop the rest of the weight I wanted to with an end goal of 170. I started up my diet again. I started a heavy cardio routine with the end goal of running a marathon. I ran about 5 miles a day skipping 2 days a week and then do a little weightlifting. About about a month I stepped on the scale. 185. I dropped my daily calorie intake from about 2200 calories to about 1700 calories. A month later stepped on the scale. 185. I increased my workout from 5 miles a day to about 8 miles a day and only would skip one day a week instead of two. About 2 weeks later I stepped on the scales. 185. At this point I am looking thinner especially in the face but I am not dropping the weight like I want to. Some people will say "your building muscle that's why your weight is not dropping" and this is true to some degree, muscle does weigh more than fat but not as much as people think, and not enough to explain my inability to loose more weight. That's when I decided to try this product. I have been using it for 2 weeks now and I am down to 179. This product in two weeks has done for me what 2 and a half months of exercise and diet couldn't do. If your not on a diet/exercise plan don't bother, this is not a miracle pill and will not do your work for you. I will definitely be repurchasing.

(More customer reviews)After years using nutritional supplements, I have come to the conclussion that thee less the better. There is currently a lot of marketing to support a multimillion dollar market. The goal is to make people believe that you need all kind of stuffs in order to succeed with your fitness/bodybuilding goals. That is totally wrong! Now I realize that there is nothing more important than this 3 elements:
-food (diet)
-training/exercise program
-rest (sleep!)
Each one is as important as the other.
If at all needed, what I would recommend is:
-1 multivitamin supplement (centrum or similar 1 tablet a day is fine. Please do not go crazy swallowing 10-12 pills a day of those fancy MV, hurting your stomach, pocket and soul)
-fish oil (for the potential CV benefits)
-protein.
this product helps to provide the required protein in case your diet can not provide them. It is not an absolute necessity but handy for those that do not have time to cook 5 meals a day or pay for them in a restaurant. ON is a good brand and their products are like generic meds: priced right, deliver what promised.
Taste is good, mix well even in a shaker (specially with water ---before training for faster absorption---you do not want to go bloated to the gym). I prefer this mix of protein over pure whey protein. I just think is more "natural" for your body.
Just make sure you are not overtraining (common mistake), have enough rest/sleep and eat well. Do not go for fancy pre, post work out, pre sleep, post sleep, intra work out, pre/intra/post defecation supplements(do you get the idea). You would just be wasting your money. You should know what that guy in the magazine really uses (steroids/hormones).
I hope this opinion would help you make a better decision.

(More customer reviews)I've always gotten the other flavours - raspberry, tropical, tangerine, orange... nice when you need a pick-me-up - and always great to hand out to droopy friends (and strangers too) who may have sniffles, or are just tired, or sick, and just can't cope. What a nice way to say you care ~ "drink this!! you'll feel better!"
Sure i take multivits and a plethora of herbs and stuff, but this is something so good to carry around with you - i always said the vitamin C turns the electricity on in the body ~now i have been reading scientific stuff that that's true! - no wonder i feel better after one of these fizzies. You get the pzazz right away. Also good thing first thing in the morning, but really, good anytime.
Black Cherry~ oh YUM ~ this reminds me so much of my favorite pop i used to drink when a kid - cherry creme soda.. only this is nowhere as sweet.
Just plop in glass of water - let it fizz, drink. I drink more water after, to rinse out my glass and get everybit, plus i figure i need the extra water anyway (i tried it in juice but it just foamed out all over the counter.. okaaayyy..).

(More customer reviews)This is the only cleansing/regulating product I've ever tried but I would recommend it. Used it to kickstart my cleaner eating phase. I liked that it has a sample 1,500 cal meal plan (can be expensive b/c it has organic/soy products). It's hard to follow exactly, but it is a good reference...unlike the ones that only let you eat soups and veggies-this just cuts out dairy, cokes, alcohol, caffine-but you can eat meats (grilled), organic wheat wrap, veggies, OJ, yogurt, ect.
Pro's: After first day of headaches(I think because I couldn't drink caffine)...my energy seemed more natural and even throughout the day. I woke up more naturally...which I didn't expect could ever happen. All around I felt alot more healthy, BUT I didn't eat healthy before so that could be why I had bigger results. Two weeks later, I am sticking to minimal caffine only in the morning, and most of the healthy eating.
Con's: All GNC pills taste bad to me, and there are soo many...so I had to take pills with the soy milk or juice. Because the nature of the product, of course I felt my insides "working" alot, but it was really only at night.
Would drink this with alot of water and follow it as close as possible.

(More customer reviews)There are both positives and negatives to the product. First, I took these for a few days right before Iworked out in the evening and did get an energy boost. I actually used them the night after to keep me awake a bit later on purpose.
I research any item greatly before taking it long-term, however so I did get some learning in on this one.
First, it should be said that no dietary supplements are regulated by the FDA.I think many already know this. It is said it will be in the future, but for now anything like a vitamin or that is classified as a dietary supplement can make claims from weight loss to male "increases". This is a dietary supplement...
So I went to the website to learn more about the ingredients.
First, the energy burst that I did enjoy in a pill was from a great deal of caffeine...290mg. That is equal to three "stay awake" pills such as No-Doz and equal to more than 3 whole cups of coffee. Still, I am not one to avoid caffeine and sometimes like that boost so I have no strong opinion on that but others who do should know that going in. If you want a natural energy boost, try something with quercetin. This isn't it.
As for the weight loss, the website by this manufacturer said that the study conducted by them showed weight loss. BUT...Far underneath that it said that this weight loss occurred "...when used in conjunction with increased exercise and a reduced calorie diet." Read that sentence again. Ummm, usage of my toe nail clippers would also show weight loss results if I worked out more and ate less when using them. So that was an eye opener and I felt a bit duped, though not entirely surprised.
But it gets better.
Also on this product website, I guess just to be safe of all legalities for anyone surprised that they don't lose weight from it, it also says in small print if you keep reading:
"Do not use for weight reduction".
Seriously.
So, that said, if you aren't looking to lose weight from this, but do sometimes need to stay awake longer without feeling like downing tons of coffee...look, it has it's place. Let's say you go out with friends and you are an early bird and the night is running long...you may not be able to grab some coffee, but you might make it home more easily with a few in your purse. I'll give it that.
However, it does HINT at claiims to burn fat...but when you read the fine print after all the marketing, it says that part you can only do on your own by increasing calorie burning and decreasing caloric intake...
...But in all honesty, haven't we always known that?
UPDATE: But, if you need further scientific proof, the amount of herbs etc in here is negligible to do anything aside from the caffeine but still...I guineapigged it just to see what happened for the last month. Why not be totally sure? Out of curiosity, I put it to the test. I own a bodybugg (the armband devices on The Biggest Loser)which measures my EXACT caloric expenditure every day. I also recorded my exact caloric intake. I took these pills to see any boost from my normal metabolism and caloric burn. (I'm able to chart it on a computer.) Unfortunately, there was no increase in caloric burn or weight loss. I've recorded my normal caloric expenditure and intake for over a year now since I bought the bugg, so it's easy for me to gauge an increase, and it did remain stable.
That said, if I want to have 6 cups of coffee in 1 second I can take 2 pills and stay up a few extra hours. Do that enough and you will burn a few more calories...but is that healthy to do? Only you can decide.
